Have you graduated from a 200 hour yoga teacher training and found the world of yoga to be immense? Do you feel as though you have only scratched the surface of what you’d like to learn? Whether you have been teaching for a few years or have recently graduated from a 200 hour program, the Westchester Yoga Arts Advanced Teacher Training will help you to find your niche. You will learn to confidently teach creative classes and hone your current yoga skills.
Our mission here at Westchester Yoga Arts, as your trainers is to help you refine and inspire your yoga teaching by building your confidence and experience. You will be presented with in-depth yogic and anatomical knowledge, you will hone intelligent yoga sequencing skills and have the opportunity to fine-tune your teaching methodology with hands on practice.
By the end of the program, you will feel comfortable creating beautiful, well-crafted sequences that create healthy, balanced classes. You will complete the program with a knowledge of how to teach intermediate through advanced asana techniques safely, and will have a clear understanding of what is involved in teaching other paths of yoga such as prenatal, restorative, yoga philosophy and pranayama.
In this training, you will enhance your teaching skill set by exploring training sessions that include:
Delving into yoga theming, philosophy and pranayama
Deepening self inquiry through meditation and practice
How is our advanced training different from all of the rest?
Our training includes small group sessions with co-teachers to discuss current teaching situations and strategies. Your training will culminate with a capstone project that helps to define you as a yoga teacher - an invaluable experience in today’s bustling yoga marketplace. We offer ample practice teaching time with the opportunity for constructive feedback, all within a supportive space that will help you to find your strengths and grow as a teacher.

Insurance – Yoga Instructor Insurance which you may purchase from a vendor of your choice, roughly estimated cost is between $100 and $200
Workshop(s) – This cost is determined by which workshop(s) you choose to attend. For example, WYA offers several 2-hour workshops, costing under $40 each.
Tuition – $4,500
Karma Yoga scholarships are available for $500 discount in exchange for 35 hours of work for the studio
Payment plans are available for up to 4 payments the first 4 months and for an added $200 convenience fee

Fascinated by the intricate relationship between the mind and body, Allison has studied and taught yoga as well as other mind-body work for several years. She began as a gymnast at the age of 5 and in her teens dived into the world of martial arts. Following her passion of language, Allison moved to Costa Rica where she worked for the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress, became fluent in Spanish, wrote content for several websites and received her 3rd degree black belt. The journey had just begun when she stepped into her first yoga teacher training in NYC at Sonic Yoga and knew that her heart aligned with the principles of yoga.
Years later equipped with a dedicated yoga and meditation practice, Allison found her home at Yoga Culture in Danbury, CT. Here she was able to refine her skills as a yoga teacher focusing on using the nuances of language to instruct students clearly and purposefully. Allison continues to study yoga and anatomy with Jenny Schuck, Jason Crandell, Carrie Owerko and Jason Brown. Allison’s teachings are a reflection of what she learns practicing daily on her mat coupled with the yoga she experiences all around her in life.
In addition to teaching and managing Yoga Culture, Allison contributes as a writer regularly to Yoga International and has released an MP3 Yoga Nidra Meditations to Relax and Move Forward.
Allison is excited to bring her knowledge and skills to the students of Westchester Yoga Arts, help guide innovative and curious yoga teachers and students to dive in deeper into their studies and acquire skills that will improve their teaching and overall fascination with the art of teaching yoga.
Marietta is a bona fide anatomy nerd and wellness warrior who advocates healthy living. She has traveled the world studying with the foremost teachers of yoga, nutrition and Thai bodywork. Marietta loves the grace and precision of Core Strength Vinyasa yoga and that it provides students a way to move and express their bodies fully and safely – from the inside out. Her classes are strong and sure to leave you with a greater sense of awareness not only of your physical body but of your mental and emotional capabilities as well.
In addition to having completed her 500 hour certification with Sadie Nardini, Marietta is also a certified Anusara yoga instructor. It’s Marietta’s passion is to share all that she has learned with her students about how to move away from fear and move towards living the fullest and healthiest life possible. This is by far the best yoga studio around!!! The instructors are all friendly and treat you a like a person and take a personal interest in your yoga journey. I've learned so much about and about life in general from each instructor and have built relationships with them as well. When you attend class you are not just a participant, but an actual member of class. They also offer other classes including belly dancing and one of the best Zumba classes around!!! I look forward to continuing my journey with this studio!!! I highly recommend joining!!!
From the moment I walked into the studio I felt at peace. The welcoming staff even stated "welcome home!" What a way to begin my first experience with yoga! I joined that day after my first class: candlelit yoga! So calming and relaxing yet challenging in its own way! After one week of yoga I feel stronger and much more relaxed! I would recommend this to anyone and cannot wait to go tomorrow!!!!
It's a place you can go to without stress. Just relax enjoy the direction of the great teachers and come out feeling like a new person. I've been going to WYA since January. It's become my safe haven. Not only have I enjoyed the classes--I take everything from gentle yoga to the more rigorous flow classes--but the studio also just has a lovely energy about it. It's one of those intangible things you can feel when you walk into the lobby. No matter my state when I walk in, my inner state is always vastly improved by the time I leave.
I have an unlimited all class access pass from Westchester Yoga Arts and it is the best. Whenever I have a stressful day or need a change, I am there, signing in a class. I’ve now done classes with all the teachers, and done yoga, zumba and belly dance. It feels good knowing that I can get a spiritual detox through yoga whenever I want to. It is complete mind and body nourishment. Thumbs up.
